00:00 The Brand SERP for Bradley Cooper
00:17 Does he have a social media account?
00:41 What’s the reason he doesn’t have social media account? An article!
01:10 Other celebrities who do not have their own social media accounts
01:35 Practical tip: Google can recognise official accounts from fan page accounts
You may wonder why some of the famous personalities are not active on social media. That is the case with Bradley Cooper, and it shows on his Brand SERP.
Google has not found any social media account that belong to him and so none rank on his Brand SERP. There are Twitter Boxes, but the posts are from other accounts tweeting about him.
I investigates and finds out that the reason Bradley Cooper doesn’t use social media is that he does not want his fans to know him too well because if they know him too well as a person, they won’t enjoy his acting as much.
From Google’s perspective, it’s absolutely amazing how well it understands and recognizes that existing ‘Bradley Cooper’ social accounts are run by his fans. So no social media accounts appear on his Brand SERP, not even in the Knowledge Panel 🙂
Join me in this fun search where he also takes a look at other celebrities who avoid social media!
Are you wondering who they are?
Watch until the end! 😉
Kalicube’s #DailyBrandSERP January 12th 2022 presented by The Brand SERP Guy, Jason Barnard
Transcript:
Hi, I’m Jason Barnard. I’m The Brand SERP Guy and today, we’re looking at the Brand SERP for Bradley Cooper, American actor. Now this one was suggested by April from the Kalicube Team, and she suggested that there’s something interesting about this Brand SERP and it’s all to do with social media.
As we scroll down, we do have social media but it’s not Bradley Cooper’s Twitter account, it’s people Tweeting about Bradley Cooper.
As we scroll down, there is no social media on the left-hand side and as we look on the right-hand side, there is no social media either. Google has not found an official Bradley Cooper social media account on Facebook, on Instagram, on Twitter, on anything.
And when we look here, I found this article, 25 celebrities who don’t use social media, Bradley Cooper is on there and he says he doesn’t use it because he doesn’t want his fans to know him too well. Because then as an actor, they won’t believe in his movies or the characters in his movies quite so much, which is a lovely idea.
And he stuck to it. And Google appears to understood that the sites, the social media sites with the Bradley Cooper name tend to be Bradley Cooper network fan sites on Facebook, Instagram. I found loads of those.
And then I thought I’d looked further into this list of 25 celebrities. I found Benedict Cumberbatch, he does a pretty good job as well. He says he doesn’t use social media and indeed he doesn’t. This Twitter profile is actually a fan Twitter profile.
And when we look at Keira Knightley, she actually created a Twitter account in 2009. She used it for about a year, then gave up. She still has 10,800 followers. But this idea that as a star, you can withdraw from social media appears to work, even to the extent that Google recognizes that there are fan sites, but they are not official sites and therefore doesn’t show them as knowledge in the Knowledge Panel. Good work Google.
Thank you very much and I’ll see you soon.
