To get insights for a digital marketing strategy, we often research other businesses in our industry and look at the factors that help their marketing so we can apply the strategies to our own business. But what we often overlook is the insights we can get from a totally different industry 😉

Sometimes looking into a very different industry and finding how it differs to yours could trigger brilliant insights for a digital strategy.

In this video, I’m analysing a rock group’s Brand SERP (Les Wampas) and tells us which areas in the entertainment industry will become applicable to the e-commerce industry in the future 😉

Kalicube’s #DailyBrandSERP  September 28th 2021 presented by the Brand SERP Guy, Jason Barnard.

Transcript:

Hi, I’m Jason Barnard. I’m the Brand SERP Guy and today, we’re looking at the Brand SERP for Les Wampas. A group I actually played music with in the nineties when I was touring France as part of the alternative rock scene. They’re absolutely awesome. They’re brilliant. And if you want to listen to some Psychobilly punk, they will be well worth listening to, even if you won’t understand the lyrics because they’re all in French, but that wasn’t the point today.

The point is this right hand rail. And it gives us a good indication of just how much information we’re going to have to control. This is a rock group. So obviously right now Google’s got a really good grip and it’s showing an awful lot of helpful information like the songs, the albums, the members of the band, the events, the upcoming events, their social profiles, and people also search for. For businesses, this is likely to happen too. For members, read board members. For songs, read product and for these, interestingly enough, Available on, think don’t think, I can listen to it on Spotify or YouTube from an entertainment perspective. Look at it as a distribution, they have seven official distributors where I can actually go and consume their product, which is the song.

And buy, download, or subscribe to get access to their music. So, although it’s really focused on entertainment, if you try looking at this from a business perspective, this is where we’re going with businesses in that right rail. And we as businesses need to learn to control as much of this information as we possibly can.

And a great place to start is right here and right now. Thank you very much and I’ll see you soon.
