Once Google sufficiently understands the products a Brand sells, it will potentially add the popular products feature to the Brand SERP. This is a super cool SERP feature that is sometimes mistakenly identified as an Ad.

But the subtleties of popular products doesn’t end in on the SERP for the brand itself, it spills over onto the Brand SERPs for the products. And the next steps require more effort. Hear more about that in this clip 😉

Transcript:

Hi, I’m Jason Barnard. I’m the Brand SERP Guy and today, we’re looking at the Brand SERP for Corsair Gaming, which is a pretty good brand SERP for a well-known company, computer hardware company. And I can immediately see, as I scroll down here that they make mouses or mice. And as you can see here, there’s an awful lot of their mice/mouses in popular products and popular product is not Google ads.

It’s actually, as we see here, info that Google has gathered about products available to buy. So, when you look at your brand SERP, once Google understands the products you sell sufficiently well, it will add popular products to your brand SERP. And in this case, an awful lot of them, and you’re going to need to deal with the brand SERP for each of those products too, because they have over on the right here a knowledge panel, they have ads at the top. They have a brand SERP to the same extent that your brand has a brand SERP. So as time goes by, you’re going to need to deal with more and more brand SERPs or entity SERPs.

We could call them your brand, the people around your brand, the products that you actually sell. So this is going to become a phenomenally big task. So I would suggest getting started with your fundamental foundational brand SERP as soon as you possibly can, so that you’re ready to deal with these kind of things when they do appear.

Thank you very much.
