Zerto Providing a Knowledge Panel Attribute from their Site

A lovely Brand SERP with a lot of information in the knowledge panel, some of which is drawn from Zerto’s own site. Great job Zerto!

Convincing Google that you are the best resource for your own brand’s information so that it enriches your knowledge panel with information you provide is incredibly powerful. If you keep giving Google the information for your knowledge panel, and Google repeatedly trusts your information, you will have a great amount of control on this very important digital property that users see every time they google your brand name.

Hi, I’m Jason Barnard. I’m the Brand SERP Guy and today, we’re looking at the Brand SERP for Zerto, a software company, apparently with a Wikipedia page. And if we look down this left-hand rail, it’s fairly boring, but that wasn’t the point for today. The point for today is this knowledge panel. We have a Wikipedia article and we have some information about them here, but what really caught my attention was this.

Is that some of the information, the founder Ziv Kedem, comes from their own site. Now, that is incredibly powerful. What we want to do is fill this knowledge panel, our knowledge panels with information that we provide ourselves and Zerto have managed to do that for at least some of the information here. Google has taken the information from Zerto’s own management team site page.

And that is absolutely brilliant! Because we are educating Google and Google trusts us with the information we give it about ourselves. That is the ultimate aim for any company, any person who wants to keep control of how Google’s knowledge graph understands them and how Google presents them in the knowledge panel on their brand SERP.
