When creating events for the Kalicube Tuesdays series, I try to track how long it takes between publishing the event and the event triggering a knowledge panel on Google SERP.
Today, it took 15 minutes, which is pretty good. The fastest so far is 4 minutes.
Events currently get special treatment in the Knowledge Graph… they get a place and trigger a knowledge panel relatively easily. It seems that when an Event is part of an EventSeries (as is the case with Kalicube Tuesdays events), then this preferential treatment is amplified.
This favouritism for events has been noticeable since Spring 2020 when Covid restrictions hit many events worldwide. Google wanted to provide information about events that is as up to date as possible (which makes sense).
