Removing an Unwanted Result From a Google Brand SERP – Kalicube Success Story
Ironically, the Brand SERP for The Brand SERP Guy contained an unwanted result. A completely unrelated and unhelpful book with the tile “The Brand SERP Guy” appeared a year and a half ago – an obvious attempt to take an unmerited place on someone else’s Brand SERP. What we now call “Knowledge Panel Spam”. The question we asked ourselves is “how can we remove this organically and without a legal process?” Challenge accepted by Kalicube and The Brand SERP Guy .
The solution: educate Google that The Brand SERP Guy is a person and that the book itself has nothing to do with that person so that Google understands that people googling “The Brand SERP Guy” are not interested in the book. It took 18 months, but the book has finally disappeared. More importantly, Google has replaced it with the book “The Fundamentals of Brand SERPs for Business” by Jason Barnard, The Brand SERP Guy.
So, beware of Spam on your Brand SERP. You need to take control and educate Google so that it represents you correctly when someone searches for your name, your business name, or your brand name. Groovy!

How Jason and His Team Managed to Educate Google That the Book Has Nothing to Do With The Brand SERP Guy

Google has understood that I am The Brand SERP Guy, that Kalicube is the company that represents The Brand SERP Guy or that The Brand SERP Guy represents. And here we own all of these. We have the Twitter account, we managed to get to rank in just a couple of months.
Jason’s Experiment Shows The Power of Being Able to Educate Google in Order to Control One’s Brand SERP and For it to Show One’s Desired Brand Message Accurately

An interview with me, more interviews with The Brand SERP Guy and then Kalicube; and then me again with LinkedIn and here is the really interesting one is that The Brand SERP Guy book, i.e. The book with the title, The Brand SERP Guy does not rank at all anymore. Google has replaced it with The Fundamentals of Brand SERPs for Business paperback, which it understands is actually the book by The Brand SERP Guy about Brand SERPs. So, it’s taken us about a year and a half, but we’ve managed to educate Google that The Brand SERP Guy book is spam, has nothing to do with us, that people searching The Brand SERP Guy are not interested in that book, that they’re looking for me, they’re looking for Kalicube, and they’re looking for information about Brand SERPs. And that shows the power of being able to educate Google in order to control your Brand SERP so that it represents you in the way you want, when somebody searches your name, your company name, or your brand name in the case of The Brand SERP Guy.
