Google Sees a Strong Relationship Between Jose Lozano and His Company

Jose Lozano is the President & Chief Executive Officer of Choose New Jersey Inc, a fact that is very well understood by Google.

A part of Google’s entity search is to focus on the entities in the search query and the user intent rather than just looking at the words in the query. This means that when Google understands an entity in your search query, it provides the answer to your query, information about the entity and (when it can) information about related entities with a strong relationship to the original entity.

In Jose’s personal Brand SERP, Google associates his entity to his company’s Google My Business anticipating the user’s further need of information about where he works.

Hi and welcome. I’m Jason Barnard. I’m the Brand SERP Guy and today we’re looking at the Brand SERP for Jose Lozano. As we can see over here on the left-hand side, Jose Lozano is the president and chief executive officer of Choose New Jersey Inc. We can see that from, which is their own site, plus his LinkedIn profile, plus, and So, there is a very close association between Jose Lozano and Choose New Jersey Inc. What’s interesting here, is to just what extent Google is associating this person with the company they run. If we look over there on the right hand side, we can see the Google My Business for Choose New Jersey. That is a very strong association.

If when I search for the president, the CEO of a company, it shows me that company in the right rail. That association is very, very close in Google’s mind. So, from a management perspective, managing our brand and managing our personal brand, it’s incredibly important to understand that these relationships are close and Google is likely to show information about one when you’re searching for the other.
