Gordon Ramsay’s Knowledge Panel Cameos are in the Left Rail!

Google lets celebrities and high-profile figures answer commonly asked questions about them through a video selfie. This super rich experience of delivering answers to users is called a Cameo.

This feature is part of the knowledge panel that displays in the right rail on desktop. But here (October 2021) we see the Cameos as Top Questions Answered in the left rail! Gordon Ramsay’s ‘top questions answered’ sits in amongst the bluelinks.

Google is more and more flexible with rich elements in the SERP in an ongoing quest to provide the best user experience. More of this mix n’ match between the rails in this clip 😉 Watch until the end!

Kalicube’s #DailyBrandSERP  October 13th 2021 presented by the Brand SERP Guy, Jason Barnard.

Transcript:

Hi and welcome. I’m Jason Barnard. I’m the Brand SERP Guy and today, we’re looking at the Brand SERP for Gordon Ramsay, the British chef. I really liked this Brand SERP. It’s got a great knowledge panel, all of these different aspects of him that people can then dig into, but that’s not the point today.

The point is we scroll down beyond these Twitter boxes is this. Top questions answered in the left rail. Usually, Google will put it down here on the right rail. Now it’s moved it across here onto the left rail. So this should be part of the knowledge panel, but it isn’t for Gordon Ramsay. And that shows us just how flexible Google SERPs are becoming. Left and right rail on desktop. Starting to mix and match to make the best user experience for Google’s users searching for somebody like Gordon Ramsay, who has immense amounts of content that Google wants to show its users searching for him.

Thank you very much and I’ll see you soon.
