How Did Gunday’s Trigger Reviews from the Web on their GMB Panel?
Key Moments in episode 124 of the Daily Brand SERP series:
00:00 Brand SERP for Gunday’s Fruit and Vegetable
00:10 The source of GMB’s reviews from the web
00:52 Practical tip: Rank a review platform on your Brand SERP
In the Kalicube Tuesdays episode with Joy Hawkins, Joy and I had a great discussion about GMB panels, including insights from Joy about how Google chooses the reviews from the web that appear in the Google My Business (now Google Business Profile) panel. Those insights inspired this idea for today’s #DailyBrandSERP 🙂
A typical Local Business Brand SERP will have review sites ranking. both on the first page and also on the following pages. Delightfully, the review sites ranking on the first page directly influence the super informative feature on the GMB panel: Reviews from the Web. Groovy!
Want to know more about the requirement to have this summary of reviews in your GMB panel? Watch until the end 🙂

Transcript:
Hi, I’m Jason Barnard. I’m the Brand SERP Guy and today, we’re looking at the Brand SERP for Gunday’s fruit and vegetable, which is a store in Melbourne, Australia. Now, we look at the left-hand rail, lots of bluelinks, which could perhaps be a little bit richer, but I want to focus on this, which is the reviews on Infobel.
Now what’s interesting. Here is something Joy Hawkins pointed out to me in the right-hand rail, in the Google My Business panel. If we scroll down, it looks all very terribly normal. And then we come here reviews from around the web. And what Joy pointed out to me was that for the reviews from around the web to appear, you have to have a review site ranking in that left rail and the reviews from the web in the right hand rail will only be pulled from ranking reviews websites in the left-hand rail.
So if you want reviews from around the web, in your Google My Business, you need to get some review platforms ranking here on the left. Thank you very much and I’ll see you soon.
