What Happens When Google is Confused About a Brand Name?

When Google is confused about a Brand name, it will give us a varied and confusing SERP. In today’s #DailyBrandSERP, I did a local search for Firefly SEO, which has a lot other brands ranking on their Brand SERP because Google is confused about who they are – it hasn’t understood. Even though they rank at the top of their Brand SERP, they need to take more control and dominate this vital digital property.

Kalicube’s #DailyBrandSERP  July 22nd 2021 presented by the Brand SERP Guy, Jason Barnard.

Transcript:

Hi. Today, we’re looking at Firefly SEO’s local Brand SERP. I’ve placed myself in Indiana to get the local results. Logically, we have the Google My Business on the right and unfortunately 10 fairly boring bluelinks on the left. No rich elements, but that, isn’t the most interesting thing about this Brand SERP.

Now what’s interesting here is I’ve typed in Fireflight SEO, which is quite explicit, but Google is bringing up Firefly Tech, Digital Firefly Marketing, Firefly Partners, Market with Firefly.

And why is that? Because it’s confused because Firefly SEO haven’t been explicit and consistent enough across all their social platforms, all their profile pages, for those to rank for this relatively explicit query in a very explicit place.
